Welcome to the ‘Naturfreundehaus Sommerecke’!

Gründung Abschluss 1200

Nestled in the heart of the forest, in an idyllic, secluded spot at an altitude of 777 metres, the Sommerecke offers unobstructed views stretching as far as the Vosges mountains. Surrounded by forests with moss-covered ground, clearings and meadows, it is a true natural idyll. The air is clear, the nights are dark, and the sound of engines rarely reaches this spot. The sounds of nature – the birds and other animals – are all the more distinct, and the silence is audible.

This place has drawn us in and truly captivated us over the years, until we were able to take over the lease in the summer of 2024.

We are happy to rent out the NFH Sommerecke to groups, and also welcome hikers and cyclists; this is our commercial venture within the association, through which we run and rent out the ‘Naturfreundehaus’ as tenants and in the spirit of the ‘Naturfreunde’. More information on rentals can be found here. Please send enquiries regarding rentals to This email address is being protected from spambots. Dancers' Village – Place of Encounter at the NFH Sommerecke

Our most important concern for our Dancers' Village at the NFH Sommerecke is the place of encounter; you are welcome to visit us and get involved.

We maintain these spaces for encounters in line with our association’s purpose of promoting an international outlook, tolerance across all areas of culture, and the spirit of cross-cultural understanding. Tolerance and communication are absolutely key concepts for us here.

In particular, we promote Contact Improvisation as a cultural practice and a profound experience of non-verbal communication, trust-building, and a source of pure joy.
