The Association’s Activities
Contact Improvisation Jams
One of our main activities at present is organising multi-day Contact Improvisation Jams in German-speaking countries. In accordance with our constitution, our purpose is:
- to promote Contact Improvisation as an art form and as a culture of togetherness
- to practice Contact Improvisation as an experiential activity that promotes tolerance by making non-verbal communication, establishing contact and forming trusting bonds beyond linguistic concepts a tangible experience.
Our jams are characterised by a culture of encounter and tolerance, of creating together, of participation and mutual support.
Nature Journey's and CI-Residencies
We also organise longer events: on the one hand, Nature Journeys, where we spend 8–14 days immersing ourselves in nature and dancing with it; and on the other hand, CI residencies, such as the three-week stay at the Naturfreundehaus Sommerecke in November 2023. Most of our events include elements of international exchange and are always linked to nature conservation.

Establishing “Dancers' Villages”
We are currently hoping for your support for the association during the next phase, in which we plan to organise further jams, get this new website up and running and complete it, and develop the association further so that we can establish actual dancers' villages.
In 2023, we began leasing a plot of land in Portugal with the aim of building our first actual dancers' village there over the next three years. This will present financial and organisational challenges, and progress will be slow, but we are very committed to this project. As soon as we have more details on when you can visit us there or even lend a hand, we will announce it here. Until then, you can sign up for our newsletter if you’d like to be kept up to date.
